Play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory With Us

Back in 2019, we made a little Facebook post about Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (the first Splash Damage game!) and we were blown away by the reception and just how many of you still play! We even put out a blog with all the instructions you need to jump back into the game.

Between that and how much fun we’ve had streaming Outcasters recently, it got us thinking: how about we set a date for a Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory stream? We can play some matches, hop into some community servers, and reminisce with you all!

Think of it like a celebration of all things Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory!

Sound good? Well, go ahead and set your reminders for…

THE OFFICIAL SPLASH DAMAGE WOLFENSTEIN ENEMY TERRITORY COMMUNITY NIGHT

WHEN? Thursday 29th April 2021, 8pm BST

WHERE? www.twitch.tv/splashdamageltd

WHAT? For a couple of hours, we’ll be streaming Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, playing matches across various community servers, and showing off some of the memories you’ve shared with us across social media.

HOW? If you want to get involved, you’ve got a few options:

• Tune into the livestream and hang out in chat, reminiscing with people about the good old days.
• Download the game, and either jump into the same server as us or check out some of the other community-run servers (there’s a lot of them!)
• Stream Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory yourself! We might hop into your server, or some of Splash Damage might pop into your chat.

OK, SO HOW DO I PLAY WOLFENSTEIN: ENEMY TERRITORY IN 2021?

You can refer to our 2019 blog for general information on how to play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory these days, but you’ll want to get started by downloading the game (for free!) here.

You’ll also want to join the official Splash Damage Discord server, where we’ll be posting information about the various servers we’re joining in the #wolf-et channel on the night, or you can get this information from our Twitch stream by typing !server into the chat.

All you’ll need to do is find the server in the list, click Join Server, and you’re in!

That said, on newer operating systems, you may run into a ‘Pure Server Check’ error, but all you need to do is change the compatibility setting in the .exe file and run it as an Administrator. This link has more details.

Last but not least, you might want to give us a follow on Twitter so you don’t miss when we go live and it all kicks off!

I’M IN THE SERVER… NOW WHAT?

When you first join a server, you’ll be in Limbo mode, where you can spectate the game. Hit L to bring up the Limbo menu where you can choose your side (you may need to switch if one side has more players), class and weapon then spawn into the game!

HEY! I STILL PLAY REGULARLY!

Firstly, thank you for keeping the Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory community spirit alive; you rock!

We know that a lot of you use the Pro Mod when you play, but we won’t be using it on this stream just to keep things simple for any returning or new players. We might use it on a future stream, however.

If you run a community server and want us to join on stream, please drop us a message on Discord or Facebook with your server name, and we’ll try our best to swing by and bring some new players with us!

And if you’ve got friends or old clan members who used to play, why not get everyone back together to celebrate Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory?
